I'm counting days to finally meet my little girl and this definitely puts things into a different perspective. I'm really bad at talking about my own photography and it seems to be a general problem among photographers. So as soon as I saw an initiative of #reppingfriends I knew I have something to share with you. Thus after giving it some thought I decided to write about appearances and being kind to yourself.Read More
Plan A depended on weather so it was a very unreliable plan to start with, but unfortunately plan B failed as well leaving us with bags full of clothes and a bunch of kids to find a new location. Fast.
So we invited ourselves to a friends place mainly because they have a tent in the back yard. Believe it or not, but most photos are made with models being covered and me running around in rain.
As always when you're determined to get what you want, rain will eventually stop and everybody is happy.Read More
Photographing my sister's family I keep track of time. Once or twice a year I see where I am with my mind and skills. And looking back I can see things I do differently now, some embarrassing post production, too. They are the best, because I'm free to test whatever I want, to say whatever comes to mind and to behave however stupid I choose. This time we got a little bit careless, because I had a crazy busy summer and we had no time to plan anything. Somehow we ended up shooting at high noon with the harshest possible sun that casts some rather unpleasant shadows. After running around for 2 hours, not being able to see much due to the sun I was rather disappointed to see the results. For me it always has to be better than the last time. I got depressed and the files were burried under my work load. At some point I had to tell my sister Kairit that I blew it, that it was below my average standard and I'm sorry. It was kind of uneasy between us as the months passed and I hadn't shown but one picture to her.
So now, almost 6 month later I took the courage to peek into that folder. Yes, there was lots of crap for the reason that I shot more frames than I usually do. And therefore it was rather difficult to pick out the good ones. But eventually I'm pleased with the outcome, happy about a few frames and most importantly - Kairit is happy, too! And ironically I ended up with one of the longest web galleries ever (except weddings). Enjoy the summer breeze!
I knew it! There will be more posts on procrastination, because I'm the worst kind of procrastinator :) This is hardcore. Prepping and propping for yet another cookbook, playing with my camera and stuff. I could do it for hours. Actually I did it for hours. More to come :)
Lihtne on olla ebanormaalne Nii võib juhtuda, kui oma rekvisiitide kollektsiooni kappidest välja tood. Ainuke vabandus on see, et üks järjekordne kokaraamat on tulemas.
I'm in love with this beetroot!
It's a story of transformation in 8 frames and in 3 minutes 30 seconds. I was waiting for a wedding ceremony to start at Tallinn Town Hall when I saw what was happening in front of the building. There was this guy making soap bubbles, speaking Italian and smiling. He took me to travel in time and space. For a short while I felt like I was in Italy. Everybody looked so happy around me chasing bubbles. The moment was fragile like a soap bubble - now it's here and now it's gone! Still makes me smile.
A session that begun with saddling horses and galloped into the sunset under the red sails is finally here. Today the couple who decided to have some family time before their big day is already waiting for their wedding photos. This is a good example what can be experienced and photographed during a couple of hours. To me the photos of families actually having a good time speak more than just posed portraits. So think first what you like to do and then invite a photographer to join you!
